| We talked with the client on this railroad for 6 months prior to starting the railroad. Their home was not yet complete but he wanted to get a little bit of a head start on it. Prior to arriving in Naples , all we had seen was a diagram of the back yard and photos of the property raw. Now, for those of you who are not from Florida and/or have never been there, we were looking at a back yard area that is totally enclosed by extremely large screens. Coming from the west coast where we don't have mosquitoes the size of B-52's, big darn cock roaches or alligators, the screens were puzzling to us. Also we don't live on a golf course where stray golf balls can hit you in the head and seabirds, egrets and pelicans dive bomb your head or simply leave deposits on you. So once we got there, we completely understood the need for the screen around the property. We started this railroad February 15th which was a delightfully balmy day in Naples Fl. And except for getting booted out of the townhome we rented 3 days after moving in, because we have a big darned truck, our trip was relatively uneventful. But the railroad is beautiful and we will be back in the fall to clean up anything that got messed up during hurricane season. |
